Abia House of Assembly member quits PDP

A lawmaker in the Abia State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Ndubuisi has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party.

Ndubuisi who is representing Bende South constituency in the Abia legislator, tendered his resignation in a letter dated June 23 and copied to the PDP Chairmen at State, zonal and local government levels in Abia.

The two-time lawmaker who blamed the crises in the PDP as his reason for dumping his umbrella, said he consulted his family and friends before taking his new political decision.

” This decision is due to the prolonged worsening crisis within the party at multiple levels Nationally, Zonally and at the State level which has made it difficult for me to continue to function effectively under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party”, said the Bende South lawmaker.

He, however, promised to remain committed to the interests of his constituents.

Although he did not disclose in his letter the next political party he is joining, close associates are speculating that Emmanuel Ndubuisi would be joining the ruling National party, the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Bende is the constituency of Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.

Exactly two months ago, the member representing Bende North constituency in the Abia House, Nnamdi Ibekwe, resigned from the PDP and joined the Labour Party.
