Rivers crisis: Tinubu directed me to settle with Wike – Fubara reveals

The suspended Governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara has disclosed an instruction President Bola Tinubu gave him amid his crisis with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

Fubara disclosed that Tinubu directed him to make peace and reconcile with his “Oga” referring to Wike.

The governor and Wike fell out shortly after he resumed office in 2023.

Their crisis led to Tinubu declaring a state of emergency in Rivers State for six months and his suspension.

A few days ago, Tinubu reconciled all aggrieved parties during a meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

After the meeting, Wike said peace has returned to Rivers State, adding that all parties have agreed to work together.

However, addressing his supporters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Saturday, the suspended governor described the reconciliation as bitter and heavy.

Fubara urged his followers known as the “Simplified family” to accept the peace accord.

He disclosed that the reconciliation was a necessary sacrifice for the sake of stability and development in the state.

Fubara said: “After the meeting we had before May 29th, we’ve had a series of meetings and one of the meetings we had was the one we met with the President, and President Tinubu clearly said, ‘I want you and your oga to settle.”
