Nigerian banks announce early closure over half-year audit

Nigerian commercial banks have announced early closure from Monday, June 30, 2025.

The banks gave scheduled half-year audit activities as the reason for the early closure.

Two Nigerian banks, Zenith Bank and Guaranty Trust Bank, disclosed this in separate statements at the weekend.

According to Zenith Bank, its branches nationwide would close by 3:00 pm.

“Please be informed that our branches nationwide will only be open to customers on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 8:00 am to to 3:00 pm,” the Zenith Bank statement partly reads.

Similarly, GTB said its branches in Lagos State would close by 3:00 pm while other states would close at 2:00 pm.

“Kindly note the early closure time below: Upcountry Branches – 2:00 pm.; Lagos Branches – 3:00 pm,” the bank stated.

Media Talk Africa reports that Nigerian banks and firms listed on Nigerian Exchange Limited are expected to release their half-year audit reports covering key indexes such as profit before tax (PBT), return on average equity (RoAE), and net interest margin (NIM).
