NIPOST gets new spokesperson as Franklin Alao retires

The Director of Corporate Communications at Nigeria Postal Service, Franklin Alao, has retired after 35 years of public service to the country.

NIPOST has now gotten a new spokesperson, Ibrahim Musa.

Speaking at his retirement event on Wednesday in Abuja, Alao described his years in NIPOST as heartwarming and challenging.

According to him, in the last years, the Nigerian Postal Service has transformed to digital, championed by the Postmaster General, Tola Odeyemi.

He urged the government to tackle the age-long challenge of funding and staff training in NIPOST to put the agency on par with its global contemporaries.

“It is heartwarming to have worked for 35 years. We came to NIPOST; information technology was not there, but now things have changed.

“I am glad to be part of the technology transformation in NIPOST. Today we are talking about smart NIPOST. NIPOST still has funding and training challenges,” he said.
