Nigeria-based energy firm Heirs Energies will join global policymakers and industry leaders at the 2025 U.S.-Africa Energy Forum (USAEF) in Houston, Texas, as its CEO Osa Igiehon outlines strategies for transforming Africa’s energy sector. Scheduled for August 6–7, the event will convene stakeholders to address investment, innovation, and equitable partnerships aimed at reshaping the continent’s energy future.

Igiehon is set to deliver an Executive Insight and join the Explorers Town Hall, emphasizing the company’s vision of combining frontier exploration with sustainable management of mature oil and gas fields. The firm’s participation underscores its ambition to shift Africa from energy scarcity to self-sufficiency through infrastructure development and technology-driven solutions across the oil and gas value chain. “Africa’s energy narrative hinges on unlocking untapped resources and optimizing existing assets responsibly,” Igiehon stated, highlighting the dual focus of pursuing new opportunities while applying international standards to legacy operations.

Central to Heirs Energies’ strategy is the “Africapitalism” philosophy championed by its parent company, Heirs Holdings, which advocates for private sector investments that generate economic growth and societal benefits. At the forum, the company plans to showcase initiatives such as gas monetization projects and collaborations designed to strengthen local expertise while fostering international partnerships.

Currently, Heirs Energies supplies gas to three power plants in Eastern Nigeria, supporting regional electrification efforts. It is also expanding infrastructure to enhance energy access, aligning with Nigeria’s broader goals to boost electricity generation. Igiehon stressed the importance of maximizing resource utility: “Energy production must serve communities and industries, proving African enterprises can achieve global benchmarks in sustainability.”
