“The next meeting will include Zelensky and Putin – or Zelensky, Putin, and myself. I’ll participate if necessary, but ideally, they’ll meet directly,” Trump said. He confirmed Zelensky was not invited to the upcoming Alaska summit, noting, “He wasn’t part of this discussion. While he could attend, he’s been involved in numerous meetings over three-and-a-half years without progress.”
Moscow has repeatedly criticized Zelensky’s approach to the conflict, accusing him of prolonging hostilities despite what it describes as an untenable position for Ukraine. Putin, while expressing openness to dialogue, has emphasized that “specific conditions” must be met for such a meeting to occur.
