Uba Sani Govt Supports Poor With Medical Equipment

‘Elections not won on social media’ — Kaduna Gov, Sani chides opposition

Governor Uba Sani’s administration is making strides to ensure inclusivity in its policies and programs, according to his Principal Private Secretary, Prof Bello Ayuba. The governor has implemented safety nets to benefit the poor and vulnerable, aligning with his campaign manifesto. Prof Ayuba emphasized that the masses are crucial in democracy, and therefore, should be considered in every policy formulation.

Recently, the Health Services Management Board delivered medical equipment to the Unguwan Liman Ward clinic in Zaria city. The equipment, which includes hospital beds, maternity and natal items, examination tables, and screens, aims to address the community’s need for accessible healthcare. Prior to this intervention, residents had to travel considerable distances for medical treatment, even for minor ailments.

The delivery of medical equipment is a response to the community’s appeal for the governor’s intervention. Additionally, the state government has approved compensation for households affected by an ongoing road construction project in the area. Contractors have received approximately 70% of the contract sum, debunking claims that the project had been abandoned.

Prof Ayuba urged the community to remain patient, as the government is committed to delivering promised amenities. He also encouraged them to pray for the success of the administration, which aims to develop rural areas and urban centers. The Zonal Coordinator of the Health Services Management Board, Dr Abdullahi Sule, called on the community to protect the newly delivered equipment from theft and vandalization.

The Secretary of Zaria Area Council Health Authority, Dr Hauwa Mahmud, expressed gratitude for the equipment and anticipated that it would enhance healthcare services at the clinic. Community elders, led by Malam Muhammad Tukur Ahmed, welcomed the government’s response to their request and appealed for the clinic to be upgraded to a primary healthcare center. They also encouraged community members to utilize the clinic regularly, as this would inform the government’s decisions on additional services to provide.
