Nigeria oil company joins International Association of Oil Gas Producers

Nigeria’s Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited has joined the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP), becoming the third Nigerian company and fourth in Africa to achieve this milestone. The IOGP, a global organization representing oil and gas companies and associations, announced the development in London. The association shares best practices and data on health, safety, environment, and operations, promoting excellence in the industry.

According to Graham Henley, CEO of IOGP, “I am delighted to welcome Renaissance Africa Energy Company to IOGP. Having worked in Nigeria, I understand the challenges and tremendous expertise they bring. I look forward to their participation in our committees and subcommittees.” This move is seen as a significant step for Renaissance, which completed the acquisition of Shell shares in the defunct Shell Petroleum Development Company just five months prior.

Tony Attah, Managing Director and CEO of Renaissance, expressed his enthusiasm for the company’s membership, stating, “We are glad to have become a member company of the IOGP, marking another milestone in our strategy to enable energy security and industrialization sustainably.” Attah emphasized Renaissance’s commitment to setting a standard for the oil and gas industry in Nigeria and across the continent, leveraging the credible collaboration with IOGP.

The company’s General Manager, Safety and Environment, Engineer Elozino Olaniyan, also welcomed the achievement, noting that it endorses the high standards set by Renaissance for its operations. Olaniyan highlighted the company’s renewed commitment to excellence, presenting an opportunity for Nigerians to drive industrialization, job creation, and economic growth.

As a member of IOGP, Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited is poised to contribute to and benefit from the global sharing of best practices, further enhancing its operations and commitment to health, safety, and environmental excellence. This development is expected to have a positive impact on Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, encouraging other stakeholders to emulate Renaissance’s vision and adhere to global standards. With its membership, Renaissance is well-positioned to play a significant role in shaping the industry’s future, both locally and internationally.
