PDP’s Zoning Plan Sets Stage for 2027 Election

2027: PDP zoning arrangement game changer — Party chieftain, Adeoye

A prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Lagos State, Prince Adelaja Adeoye, has commended the party’s zoning arrangement for the 2027 general elections, describing it as a strategic move. Speaking in Lagos on Wednesday, Adeoye, a former House of Representatives aspirant in Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency, emphasized that zoning the presidential ticket to the South is crucial for the party’s success in the upcoming election.

The PDP’s National Executive Committee, NEC, had previously decided to zone the 2027 presidential ticket to the South during its meeting in Abuja. Additionally, the NEC retained the existing National Working Committee zoning formula for the November elective convention. According to Adeoye, this decision will foster unity and progress within the party, ultimately leading to victory in the 2027 presidential election.

Adeoye noted that the PDP is making progress towards stability, thanks to recent decisions, including those made during the 102nd NEC meeting in Abuja. He expressed optimism that the party will address its past mistakes at the upcoming National Convention in Ibadan, scheduled for November 15 and 16. At this convention, a new National Working Committee will be elected to manage the party’s affairs leading up to the 2027 elections and beyond.

The PDP chieftain stated that the party is taking bold steps to gain an edge in the 2027 elections, exploring various options to achieve this goal. By zoning the presidential ticket to the South, the party aims to promote a sense of fairness and balance, which could potentially boost its chances of winning the election. As the 2027 general elections approach, the PDP’s zoning arrangement is likely to be a key factor in the party’s campaign strategy. With the National Convention imminent, the party’s next steps will be closely watched by political observers and stakeholders.
