Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna, has accused the Dangote Group of failing to fulfill its promise to provide medical treatment abroad for her sister, Ruth, who was involved in a tragic accident. The accident occurred on August 13, 2025, near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State, when Ruth was hit by a Dangote truck allegedly driven by an underage, unlicensed driver.
Ruth, Phyna’s younger sister, suffered severe injuries, including the amputation of her left leg, and her right leg is also at risk. The accident happened just six days after Ruth’s graduation. Phyna recently visited her sister and reported that her condition is worse than initially shared with the public.
According to Phyna, she has been in talks with representatives of the Dangote Group, and the company initially agreed to fly Ruth to India for advanced medical care. However, Ruth was first transferred to Lagoon Hospital in Lagos, where Phyna was asked to provide a detailed medical report. After submitting the report, the company’s officials reportedly backtracked, stating that they would seek further medical advice before making any decision.
Phyna claims that the Dangote official she was communicating with has ignored her messages for over 24 hours, raising concerns about the company’s sincerity in its promises to help. She is calling on Aliko Dangote, the owner of the company, to personally intervene in saving her sister’s life. Phyna emphasizes that her sister needs urgent care that is beyond what local hospitals can handle.
