PDP Sets 2025 National Convention Organizing Committee Inauguration

Bauchi: PDP clinches Shira council seat as APC boycotts by-election

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has set September 2, 2025, as the inauguration date for its 2025 National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC). This decision follows approval from the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Working Committee (NWC), as announced by Debo Ologunagba, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, in a statement released on Thursday.

The 110-member NCOC will be led by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State as Chairman, with Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State serving as Vice Chairman and Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State as Secretary. The committee’s establishment is a significant step towards the party’s 2025 Elective National Convention, scheduled to take place in Ibadan, Oyo State, in November.

The PDP’s National Working Committee has urged all party leaders, stakeholders, and members to maintain unity and focus, working collectively towards the convention’s success. This call to action emphasizes the importance of a cohesive approach in the lead-up to the event.

The 2025 Elective National Convention is expected to be a pivotal moment for the PDP, as it will shape the party’s direction and leadership in the forthcoming electoral cycle. With the NCOC’s inauguration on the horizon, the party is positioning itself for a structured and organized approach to the convention.

In the context of Nigeria’s political landscape, the PDP’s moves are being closely watched, given the party’s significant role in the country’s electoral process. As the party prepares for its national convention, the commitment to unity and collective effort will be crucial in determining its outcomes and future trajectory.

The inauguration of the NCOC on September 2 will mark an important milestone in the PDP’s preparations for the 2025 Elective National Convention. As the party moves forward, its ability to work together and present a unified front will be essential in achieving its goals and making a meaningful impact in Nigerian politics.
