Tinubu reelection APC dismisses national consensus claim

ADC coalition not national consensus to unseat Tinubu, APC tells Tambuwal — Daily Nigerian

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has dismissed claims of a national consensus to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027. According to Seye Oladejo, the APC Spokesman, the emerging national consensus is actually in support of good governance, which will likely lead to Nigerians reaffirming their trust in President Tinubu when the time comes.

Oladejo was reacting to a statement by Senator Aminu Tambuwal, a former governor of Sokoto State, who described the plan to unseat President Tinubu in 2027 as a national consensus rather than a northern conspiracy. The APC spokesman noted that Tambuwal’s statement is an attempt to rewrite the truth, which is that Nigerians overwhelmingly rejected the opposition in 2023 and continue to support the current government.

President Tinubu was elected by Nigerians from every region, faith, and background, and his administration has been focused on performance rather than propaganda. The Renewed Hope Agenda has already yielded visible results, including economic stabilization efforts and legacy infrastructure projects. Halfway into his first term, the nation is beginning to appreciate the clarity, courage, and competence of his administration.

Oladejo urged Senator Tambuwal to focus on clearing his name before anti-graft agencies, which still have open questions regarding his tenure as governor of Sokoto State. The APC spokesman also described the opposition parties’ talks of consensus ahead of the 2027 general elections as laughable, citing the incompatible ambitions and conflicting interests of opposition leaders.

The APC remains focused on delivering for the Nigerian people, building roads, creating jobs, fixing power, reforming the economy, and laying the foundation for a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria. Meanwhile, some opposition leaders have adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a platform to unseat President Tinubu in 2027. The development is being closely watched by Nigerians and the international community, as the country prepares for its next general elections.
