AFRIMA Awards: Burna Boy, Davido, Ayra Starr Contest

The All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, has announced its nominees for the 11th edition, with top Nigerian music artists Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, and Davido competing for the coveted Artiste of the Year award.

The 2025 AFRIMA nominations list is dominated by Burna Boy, Davido, and Shallipopi, with five and four nominations respectively. Notably, Davido and Burna Boy each received five nominations, while Shallipopi secured four, including nods for Artiste of the Year and Song of the Year. Rema also garnered three nominations, including a spot in the Artiste of the Year category. Ayra Starr, with two category nominations, will also contend for the top artistic honor alongside other prominent stars, such as Burna Boy, Davido, and El Grande Toto.

Public voting is set to commence on September 10, allowing fans globally to participate in selecting the winners. This year’s AFRIMA awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Nigeria from November 25 to 30, 2025.
