Anambra Governorship: Soludo, Chukwuma Exchange Jabs

APC well positioned to take over Anambra – Paul Chukwuma

The Young Progressives Party’s governorship candidate in Anambra, Mr. Paul Chukwuma, has responded to comments made by Governor Chukwuma Soludo regarding his candidacy. During a visit to Chukwuma’s community, Umueri, Soludo stated that the YPP candidate was not a serious contender in the governorship election, but rather seeking popularity. Soludo also shared a light-hearted anecdote about Chukwuma’s alleged desire to contest for the governorship after admiring the governor’s seat during a visit.

Chukwuma has urged Soludo to focus on addressing the state’s issues rather than engaging in gossip. He suggested that if Soludo enjoys trading insults, he should do so in a more suitable setting, such as a market where women sell pepper and ogiri. Chukwuma emphasized that his candidacy is focused on tackling key issues affecting Anambra, including the lack of electricity. He noted that power is no longer an exclusive federal responsibility, but rather a concurrent issue that can be legislated on by both the state and federal governments.

Chukwuma questioned why Soludo has not taken steps to provide steady power to the people of Anambra, given the state’s ability to legislate on the issue. He claimed that he has researched and explored solutions to the power shortage, including visiting Prof. Bart Nnaji’s Geometric Power in Aba and traveling to China. Chukwuma pledged to provide steady power to the people of Anambra within three months if elected.

The exchange between Chukwuma and Soludo highlights the ongoing campaign for the Anambra governorship election. The election is expected to be highly competitive, with various candidates vying for the top position. Chukwuma’s response to Soludo’s comments demonstrates his commitment to addressing the state’s pressing issues and his determination to be taken seriously as a candidate. As the campaign continues, it remains to be seen how the candidates will engage with each other and with the voters on the key issues affecting Anambra.
