European Ryder Cup vice captain Alex Noren has regained his form at the BMW PGA Championship, currently sharing the lead with Adrien Saddier. The Swedish golfer achieved this feat despite unpredictable weather conditions at Wentworth Golf Club. Noren’s six-under-par round was capped off with an eagle at the 18th hole, placing him two shots clear of English Ryder Cup star Tyrrell Hatton.

Noren’s performance is a notable improvement from his recent outings. Earlier in the year, he struggled with mid-pack finishes at the Truist Championship, PGA Championship, and the Memorial Tournament. He also missed cuts at the RBC Canadian Open, Rocket Classic, and Genesis Scottish Open. However, he managed to turn his season around with a T7 finish at the 3M Open and a T3 finish at the Wyndham Championship. Noren also won the Betfred British Masters, but failed to make the cut at the Omega European Masters the following weekend.

The 43-year-old golfer expressed his excitement about his chances of winning the championship, stating that he will work with his coach to prepare for the final round. Noren has a history of performing well at the BMW PGA Championship, having won the event in 2017 from a similar position. He shot a 62 in the final round to beat Francesco Molinari by two strokes.

As the championship progresses, Noren will face stiff competition from other top golfers, including Ryder Cup stars Viktor Hovland, Justin Rose, and Ludvig Aberg. The Swedish golfer’s current form and experience make him a strong contender for the title. With one round remaining, Noren is focused on preparing for the final round and making the most of his opportunity to win a major championship.

Noren’s season has been marked by inconsistency, but his recent performances suggest that he is regaining his form. His victory at the Betfred British Masters and strong finishes at the 3M Open and Wyndham Championship demonstrate his ability to compete at a high level. As he heads into the final round of the BMW PGA Championship, Noren will be looking to draw on his experience and skill to secure a win.
