ADC Courts Benue APC Chieftain Ahead 2027 Elections

2027: ADC woos Benue APC chieftain

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has extended an invitation to Hon. Inalegwu Ejembi to join the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. This move is driven by the party’s confidence in Ejembi’s ability to provide effective representation.

A delegation of ADC stakeholders from Okpokwu Local Government Area recently paid a courtesy visit to Ejembi, during which they expressed their support for his potential bid to represent the Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadigbo Federal Constituency. The delegation was led by Hon. Peter Abba, Chairman of the Edumoga Ehaja Central Working Committee, and included notable figures such as elder Mathias Oche, Hon. Emmanuel Ape, Hon. Peter Abraham Oko, and Hon. Clement Agada.

According to the ADC stakeholders, Ejembi’s vision aligns with the party’s ideals, and they believe he possesses the qualities necessary to advance the constituency’s interests in the National Assembly. They described him as a credible and people-focused leader who prioritizes the welfare of his constituents.

In response to the invitation, Ejembi thanked the ADC team for their show of confidence, describing the visit as a great honor. He reiterated his commitment to prioritizing the welfare of his constituents above all else if elected, stating that his political mission is centered on building a constituency where the people’s welfare is the highest priority.

This development comes on the heels of the ADC’s announcement that over 10,000 members from other parties, including the APC, PDP, and SDP, have defected to the ADC in Agatu Local Government Area. The ADC’s efforts to recruit Ejembi and the recent defections suggest a strategic push by the party to expand its influence ahead of the 2027 elections. As the electoral landscape continues to evolve, the ADC’s moves are likely to be closely watched by political observers and analysts.
