Frankfurt goalkeeper respects Galatasaray striker Osimhen ahead of Champions League tie

Frankfurt goalkeeper Michael Zetterer has expressed his neutral stance on facing Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen in their upcoming UEFA Champions League match. Speaking ahead of the tie, Zetterer stated that he has “no more or less respect” for Osimhen than he does for any other opponent, including those in the Bundesliga.

The match, scheduled to take place at Deutsche Bank Park on Thursday, will see the Bundesliga side host the Turkish Super Lig champions. Osimhen, who has been recovering from an ankle ligament injury, may feature in the game after missing Galatasaray’s last Super Lig tie. The Nigerian international picked up the injury during a World Cup qualifier against Rwanda earlier this month.

Zetterer’s comments come as Osimhen has been in impressive form for Galatasaray, scoring over 36 goals for the club in all competitions last season. Despite this, the Frankfurt goalkeeper remains focused on the task at hand, emphasizing that he respects every opponent equally. “I respect every opponent,” Zetterer said in his pre-match interview.

The upcoming match is a significant one for both teams, with Frankfurt looking to make a strong impression in the Champions League. Galatasaray, on the other hand, will be seeking to build on their recent success in the Turkish Super Lig. With Osimhen potentially returning to the lineup, the Turkish side will be hoping to pose a formidable challenge to their German opponents.

As the two teams prepare to face off, the spotlight will be on Zetterer and his ability to contain Osimhen’s attacking threat. The Frankfurt goalkeeper’s experience in the Bundesliga will be put to the test as he looks to neutralize the Nigerian striker’s scoring prowess. The match promises to be an exciting encounter, with both teams eager to make a statement in the Champions League.
