Tinubu congratulates FAAN boss on ACI Africa vice presidency

President Bola Tinubu has extended congratulations to Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, on her election as Vice-President of Airports Council International, Africa. The presidential message was conveyed through a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Presidential Spokesperson, in Abuja.

The Airports Council International is the global trade body representing airports worldwide, setting international standards, policies, and best practices for airport management and operations. Mrs. Kuku’s election was ratified at the 34th ACI Africa General Assembly, which took place in Lusaka, Zambia, from September 13 to September 19.

President Tinubu acknowledged the dedication of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria’s leadership in ensuring safe and efficient air transport in Nigeria, an effort now recognized on the global stage. He commended Mrs. Kuku’s foresight and leadership, which previously earned her the role of ACI Africa Regional Advisor and now a permanent seat on the ACI World Governing Board.

The Airports Council International, founded in 1991, oversees more than 2,000 airports in over 170 countries and territories under the supervision of its Governing Board. As Vice-President of ACI Africa, Mrs. Kuku will play a significant role in shaping the future of airport management and operations in Africa.

The election of Mrs. Kuku to this prestigious position highlights Nigeria’s growing influence in global aviation.
