Killers of Rev Fr Matthew Eya hunted by Enugu police

The Enugu State Police Command has launched a thorough investigation into the murder of Reverend Father Matthew Eya, who was shot dead on September 19. The incident occurred at night on the Eha-Ndiagu Eha-Etiti Road in Eha-Alumona, Nsukka Local Government Area. Commissioner of Police Mamman Giwa has ordered a comprehensive manhunt for the perpetrators, directing the Area Commander of Udenu Area Command and heads of tactical and operational units to track down the killers.

According to a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, the police have detained 38 suspects following a bush combing and raid of black spots in the area. Incriminating exhibits were recovered from the suspects, who are currently undergoing screening.
