The Imo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a warning regarding unauthorized meetings being convened by certain individuals under the guise of the party. According to a statement released by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Chief Macdonald Amadi, these actions are deemed mischievous and a direct affront to party discipline and unity.
The state leadership has emphasized that those involved in fanning discord and attempting to sow seeds of disunity must desist immediately. Failure to comply will result in disciplinary action, in accordance with the party’s constitution and code of conduct. The ADC has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a transparent, inclusive, and broad-based political family, where genuine grievances are addressed through established internal mechanisms.
Under the leadership of Professor James Okoroma, the party has established a Reconciliation and Harmonization Committee to mediate and resolve internal disputes. Members with legitimate complaints or misunderstandings are urged to approach this committee, rather than engaging in clandestine meetings or divisive theatrics.
The ADC has emphasized its focus on building a formidable platform capable of delivering credible leadership and responsive governance to the people of Imo State. The party will not tolerate acts that distract from this objective, and has warned against factional schemes and unauthorized meetings.
The warning comes as the party seeks to maintain unity and discipline among its members, while working towards its goal of providing effective governance in Imo State. With its commitment to transparency and inclusivity, the ADC aims to build trust and confidence among its members and the broader community. By addressing internal disputes through established channels, the party seeks to prevent divisions and maintain a unified front in its pursuit of good governance.
