The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Delta State, Nigeria, has introduced Oritsemami Obioru as its aspirant for the south senatorial district in the upcoming 2027 election. Obioru reaffirmed his intention to run for the seat during a solidarity visit to the party’s chairman, Austine Okolie, at the ADC secretariat in Asaba, the state capital.
Obioru’s visit aimed to demonstrate his commitment to the party and its leadership, as well as his ambition to represent the Delta South Senatorial District in the Senate. In a meeting with Okolie, discussions focused on deepening cooperation among party members, strengthening party structures, and mobilizing support across the eight local government areas of Delta South. The adoption of issue-based campaigns to address pressing challenges, such as environmental degradation, unemployment, and underdevelopment, was also a key topic.
The ADC Warri South local government chairman, Excel Otonne Ololo, expressed his support for Obioru, describing him as a trusted and illustrious son of the soil. Ololo assured that he would back Obioru’s people-centered development policy, which aims to catalyze socioeconomic and infrastructural development in Delta South. Okolie, the Delta State ADC Chairman, commended Obioru for his commitment to the party’s growth, praising his grassroots engagement mechanism and alignment with the party’s vision of inclusiveness, accountability, and transformative leadership.
The introduction of Obioru as the ADC’s aspirant for the south senatorial district marks a significant step in the party’s preparations for the 2027 election. As the political landscape in Nigeria continues to evolve, the ADC’s efforts to position itself as a viable entity that promotes transparent political culture in the state are likely to be closely watched. With Obioru’s candidacy, the party aims to address the pressing challenges facing the Delta South Senatorial District and improve the wellbeing of its people. The upcoming election is expected to be highly contested, and the ADC’s ability to mobilize support and present a strong candidate will be crucial in determining its success.
