Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested a serving soldier and a police officer for their alleged involvement in smuggling arms and logistics to Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists in Nigeria’s North East region. The arrests were made between September 26 and 28, following intelligence-led operations.
According to a credible source at the Army Headquarters, the suspects were caught with military-grade ammunition, rifles, and communication devices. The source stated that surveillance led to a sting operation, which resulted in the apprehension of the suspects. In the North West, troops of the 17 Brigade arrested a suspected terrorist logistics supplier and an informant in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina. Preliminary investigations have linked the suspects to an arms dealer with ties to an operative codenamed Babaru.
