The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the official timetable and schedule of activities for the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, Nigeria. According to the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, the process will commence with a notice of election to the state chapter on October 3, 2025. This will be followed by an update of the membership register across the state between October 20 and October 31, 2025.

To participate in the exercise, members must have their names in the register and be financially up-to-date with their dues for at least one year up to February 2025. The sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms will begin on November 12, 2025, with a deadline for submission of completed forms on December 1, 2025. The APC has also announced concessions for women, youths, and persons with disabilities, including discounted or free forms for eligible candidates.

The fee structure for the Osun governorship contest has been disclosed, with the Expression of Interest Form costing N10 million and the Nomination Form costing N40 million, totaling N50 million. The Delegate Form will cost N5,000. The forms will be available for purchase at the APC Directorate of Organization in Abuja.

The party has outlined a series of activities, including the screening of aspirants, publication of results, appeal hearings, and the conduct of the governorship primary election. A congress will also be held to ratify the result of the primary in line with the 2022 Electoral Act (as amended). The APC has emphasized that only financial members with at least three months of active membership before the congress will be eligible to participate in the process of electing delegates.

The release of the timetable marks a significant step in the preparations for the 2026 governorship election in Osun State. The APC has advised members and aspirants seeking additional information to contact the party’s Directorate of Organization. As the election process unfolds, the party’s commitment to inclusivity and fairness will be closely watched by stakeholders and the public.
