UAC of Nigeria PLC has completed its acquisition of Chivita|Hollandia, a leading manufacturer of juice and dairy products in Nigeria. The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) approved the transaction, which is expected to bolster UAC’s position in the country’s fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.

The acquisition, first announced on July 30, 2025, involves the transfer of ownership of CHI Limited to UAC. According to UAC, the move will expand its footprint into the growing juice and dairy markets, strengthening its portfolio with two market-leading brands and a well-established distribution network.

Eelco Weber, Managing Director of CHI Limited, expressed optimism about the company’s future under UAC’s ownership, stating, “We are pleased to have received regulatory approval for this transaction. We look forward to a smooth transition and to seeing Chivita|Hollandia thrive under UAC’s ownership.”

Fola Aiyesimoju, Group Managing Director of UAC, highlighted the strategic importance of the acquisition, saying, “We are excited to officially welcome the Chivita|Hollandia team and brands into the UAC family, and we are eager to work together to build on their strong legacy and market leadership.”

The transaction also aligns with The Coca-Cola Company’s global strategy to adopt a more asset-light model, focusing on high-scale brands. Coca-Cola has reiterated its commitment to Nigeria, with plans to invest $1 billion over five years, contingent on a stable and supportive business environment.

This acquisition marks a significant development in Nigeria’s FMCG sector, as UAC seeks to consolidate its position and expand its product offerings. With the completion of the transaction, UAC is poised to leverage Chivita|Hollandia’s market-leading brands and distribution network to drive growth and increase its market share. The move is also expected to have a positive impact on the Nigerian economy, as UAC and Coca-Cola continue to invest in the country’s consumer goods sector.

The successful completion of the acquisition is a testament to the growing confidence of investors in Nigeria’s economy, despite challenges. As UAC and Chivita|Hollandia embark on this new chapter, they are expected to play a significant role in shaping the country’s consumer goods landscape.
