I married my ex-wife because she got pregnant - Daddy Freeze

Daddy Freeze, a prominent media personality, has opened up about his first marriage, revealing that it was heavily influenced by pregnancy. In a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, Freeze reflected on his experience with his ex‑wife, Opeyemi, stating that he would not have married her if she had not been pregnant at the time.

Freeze was 24 years old when he married the 22‑year‑old Opeyemi, and he described both of them as young and immature. He acknowledged that the pregnancy was a significant factor in their decision to wed, a decision that ultimately did not work out. The marriage ended in divorce, and for nearly ten years Freeze has been denied access to his children by his ex‑wife.

He described both himself and his ex‑wife as stubborn, which contributed to the breakdown of their relationship. Freeze expressed pain and regret over not being able to see or communicate with his children, who now live abroad. Although he can trace their whereabouts, he has chosen not to initiate contact, hoping instead that they will reach out when they are ready.

The media personality’s candid discussion sheds light on the complexities of relationships and the challenges that arise when couples are not emotionally prepared for marriage. His story also highlights the difficulties that can occur when co‑parenting relationships break down, leaving one parent without access to their children. By speaking publicly about his experiences, Freeze underscores the importance of careful consideration and mutual commitment in any romantic partnership, and his openness may help reduce the stigma surrounding divorce, co‑parenting, and personal struggles.
