BREAKING: Again, Dangote refinery slashes petrol prices nationwide

The Dangote Refinery confirmed that its operations were not disrupted by the two‑day strike undertaken by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN). The refinery thanked President Bola Tinubu and federal officials for their timely intervention, which halted the strike and prevented any interruption to production.

President Tinubu, his ministers and senior officials, along with Nigeria’s security chiefs—including National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and the directors general of the Department of State Security and the National Intelligence Agency—were credited with resolving the dispute. The refinery attributed the uninterrupted operations to the loyalty and dedication of its workers, who ensured that activities continued “even for a second” despite provocative comments and directives from detractors.

PENGASSAN had called the strike in response to the mass dismissal of Nigerian workers by the refinery. After federal intervention, both parties reached a truce and the strike was called off after two days. The refinery expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their solidarity, noting that the Dangote Group is the country’s largest private employer and a major contributor to tax revenues.

In a statement posted on its social media account, the company thanked all stakeholders who helped resolve the dispute. The swift settlement averted potential disruptions to Nigeria’s energy sector, ensuring the refinery’s continued operation and stability in the industry. As the nation’s largest private employer and a key economic driver, the Dangote Group’s commitment to its workers and to Nigeria’s economic development is evident in its efforts to maintain uninterrupted operations.
