Afenifere Leader Blasts APC Over Deception

The leader of the Yoruba Socio-Cultural Organization, Afenifere, Oba Oladipo Olaitan, has criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nigeria. In an interview on Channels Television’s ‘Sunrise Daily’, Olaitan accused the APC of deceiving people and manipulating figures. He stated that the party’s primary focus is on concealing issues and distorting facts.

Oba Olaitan raised concerns about the country’s safety, citing the previous administration’s alleged imposition of foreign nationals, specifically Fulanis, to influence the nation’s politics. He questioned the intentions of those who would go to such extremes to gain power, suggesting that their actions are driven by a desire to rule at all costs.

The Afenifere leader also referenced the current President’s campaign rhetoric, in which he stated that it was his turn to lead the country. Olaitan interpreted this statement as a sign of the President’s mindset, implying that he prioritizes his own interests over the well-being of the nation.

The criticism comes amid ongoing political tensions in Nigeria, where the APC has faced accusations of manipulating electoral processes and suppressing opposition. The Yoruba Socio-Cultural Organization has been a vocal advocate for the rights and interests of the Yoruba people, one of Nigeria’s largest ethnic groups.

As the country navigates its complex political landscape, statements like Oba Olaitan’s highlight the need for transparency and accountability in governance. The APC’s response to these criticisms has not been reported, but the party’s actions will likely be closely watched by Nigerians and international observers alike. The ongoing debate over the country’s political future is expected to continue, with various stakeholders pushing for reforms and greater representation.
