PDP holds NEC meeting, suspends discussion on national secretary position — Daily Nigerian

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State has suspended its State Secretary, Sa’idu Adamu, due to allegations of gross misconduct and anti-party activities. This decision was announced by the State Publicity Secretary, Maria Dogo, in a statement released to the press in Kaduna on Tuesday. The suspension is in accordance with the provisions outlined in Articles 58(1)(h) and 57(3) of the PDP Constitution, as amended in 2017.

The State Working Committee (SWC) of the party reached this decision during a meeting held at the party’s secretariat in Kaduna on October 6, 2025. The suspension, which is effective immediately, will last for a period of one month. During this time, Sa’idu Adamu is barred from participating in any party activities at all levels, pending the outcome of investigations and subsequent decisions by the party.

The PDP in Kaduna State has reaffirmed its commitment to upholding internal discipline, fairness, and justice under the leadership of State Chairman, Edward Percy Masha. According to Maria Dogo, the ongoing efforts by the State Working Committee aim to strengthen the party’s structures and ensure accountability across all ranks.

The party’s stance on discipline and accountability is crucial in maintaining a strong and cohesive political organization. This move reflects the PDP’s resolve to address internal issues and uphold its code of conduct, which is essential for its growth and public perception.

In the context of Nigerian politics, internal party discipline plays a significant role in determining the effectiveness and popularity of a political party. The suspension of a high-ranking official like Sa’idu Adamu underscores the seriousness with which the PDP views allegations of misconduct and anti-party activities.

As the situation unfolds, the party’s actions will be closely watched by its members, political observers, and the general public. The outcome of the investigations and any subsequent decisions will be pivotal in determining the future course of action for Sa’idu Adamu and the PDP in Kaduna State.
