We are coming after your seat – Oyo APC warns Gov Makinde

Ahead of the March 11 governorship election, the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Thursday advised Governor Seyi Makinde and his supporters to stop claiming an endorsement from the President-elect, Bola Tinubu.

Oyo APC Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, conveyed the warning in a statement he issued in Ibadan, the state capital.

Media Talk Africa reports that there have been insinuations from the Government House that the governor played a key role in Tinubu’s victory during the last Saturday election.

The APC spokesperson, however, described claims by Makinde and his supporters that he had been endorsed by the president-elect as “a height of desperation and insincerity.”

Sadare queried the rationale behind the insinuations about Makinde being responsible for the delivery of all three senatorial and eight House of Representatives seats to the APC with two pending.

“To set the record straight, Oyo PDP did its best to secure victory for all its candidates at the February 25 election. But, they failed simply because Oyo APC was far ahead of them in terms of preparedness, human resources and strategy.

“We, therefore, challenge Makinde or any of his agents to present any evidence of the purported agreement or deal between them and Tinubu, if they are truthful,” he said.

Makinde is one of the aggrieved governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP who worked against the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
