Rangers beat Abia Warriors 2-0 in Nigerian league match

Abia Warriors’ technical adviser, Imama Amapakabo, has attributed his team’s 2-0 defeat to Rangers to technical mistakes made by his players. The loss occurred at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu on Wednesday, with Iwundu Chidozie and Godwin Obaje scoring in the first half to secure the win for the Flying Antelopes.

The victory propelled Rangers to fifth position in the league table, with 11 points. Amapakabo emphasized that technical mistakes, rather than tactical errors, were the primary cause of the defeat. He noted that one of his players was slow to react, but distinguished between technical and tactical mistakes, considering them distinct issues.

Amapakabo also criticized the time-wasting tactics employed by some home teams, including hiding the ball when leading, which he believes hinders the growth of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL). He argued that such antics are detrimental to the league’s development and should be eliminated.

Abia Warriors will face a challenging test in their next match, as they take on league leaders Nasarawa United at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday. This encounter promises to be a crucial showdown, with Abia Warriors seeking to bounce back from their defeat and Nasarawa United aiming to maintain their position at the top of the table.

The Nigerian Professional Football League has witnessed intense competition this season, with several teams vying for top positions. The match between Abia Warriors and Nasarawa United is expected to be a closely contested affair, with both teams eager to secure valuable points. As the league progresses, teams will need to adapt and improve their strategies to remain competitive, and the upcoming match will be a significant test of Abia Warriors’ resolve and determination.
