Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has allocated N4.8 billion for various development projects across the state’s 44 local governments. This announcement was made during a meeting with the Forum of Supervisory Councillors and Advisers from all local government areas. The governor emphasized the importance of effective local governance and ensuring that development projects align with the needs of the people.

According to a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa, Governor Yusuf acknowledged the crucial role of supervisory councillors and advisers in implementing development projects and policies. He expressed his commitment to engaging with them to strengthen local governance. The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Zaura, praised the governor’s achievements and predicted his return in 2027.

The State Chairperson of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hajiya Sa’adatu Yusha’u, commended the governor’s leadership and assured continued support for the betterment of Kano. The forum’s Chairman, Hudu Takai, explained that the group was established to support the state government in implementing its policies and programmes. During the meeting, the forum conferred an Award of Excellence on the governor and unveiled a project called ‘Abba Keep Moving’.

The allocation of N4.8 billion for development projects demonstrates the governor’s commitment to improving the lives of Kano State residents. By engaging with supervisory councillors and advisers, the governor aims to ensure that development projects are tailored to the specific needs of each community.
