APC Dissolves Enugu Chapters to Rebuild Party

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State has dissolved its Ward and Local Government executive committees as part of a broader strategy to revitalize the party. According to Dr. Ben Nwoye, Chairman of the Caretaker Committee, this move aims to rebuild the party from the ground up and strengthen its presence at the grassroots level.

The dissolution was announced at the end of a stakeholders’ meeting in Enugu West Senatorial District on Sunday. Nwoye explained that the decision followed a directive from the party’s National Working Committee and was made after extensive consultations with stakeholders at both the national and state levels. The goal, he said, is to create a more inclusive and vibrant leadership structure that truly represents the interests of party members.

In recent years, the APC in Enugu State has faced internal divisions, factionalization, and leadership disputes that have weakened its political standing. The dissolution of the Ward and Local Government executive committees is seen as a step towards addressing these issues and starting anew with a unified front ahead of future elections. Nwoye emphasized that this move is not punitive but rather a strategic effort to reposition the party for future political contests.

The APC’s decision to rebuild its structure in Enugu State is significant, given the party’s history of internal conflicts. By dissolving the existing executive committees, the party hopes to create an opportunity for fresh leadership and a more cohesive approach to politics. As Nwoye noted, the aim is to establish a party structure that is inclusive, transparent, and accountable to its members.

The dissolution of the Ward and Local Government executive committees marks a new chapter for the APC in Enugu State. As the party moves forward, it will be important to watch how the new leadership structure takes shape and how it will impact the party’s performance in future elections. With this strategic move, the APC is seeking to strengthen its position in the state and improve its chances of success in upcoming political contests.
