Zanzibar CCM candidate promises peace and development

Zanzibar’s ruling party candidate, Simai Mohammed Said, has urged residents of Uzi Village to continue supporting the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party for sustained peace and development. Addressing a large rally at Uzi Ng’ambwa, Simai highlighted the Eighth Phase Government’s commitment to transforming lives through infrastructure, education, and social welfare projects.

The government’s initiatives have reached even the most remote parts of Unguja, with notable projects including the construction of a two-kilometre bridge connecting Uzi Island to the mainland. This bridge has opened access for business, transport, and tourism, and has improved the lives of residents by providing easier access to markets, schools, and healthcare services.

Simai noted that the bridge has enabled fishermen to transport their catches faster, traders to access urban markets, and children to reach schools more easily. He also highlighted other government achievements, including improved healthcare services through the construction of modern dispensaries, electrification projects, and increased access to clean and safe water in rural areas.

The candidate pledged to focus on youth employment, women’s empowerment, and education if re-elected. He plans to expand vocational training and support entrepreneurship to enable young people to become job creators rather than job seekers. Simai also reminded residents to turn up in large numbers on election day, emphasizing that voting for CCM guarantees continuity of progress and peace.

The people of Uzi have been commended for maintaining unity and discipline during campaign activities, reflecting Zanzibar’s long-standing culture of political tolerance. Simai concluded by urging residents to rally behind President Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi and President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, stating that with CCM, Zanzibar’s future is bright.

The upcoming election is significant for Zanzibar, as it will determine the direction of the country’s development and progress. The CCM party has been in power for several decades and has implemented various initiatives to improve the lives of citizens. The election outcome will be closely watched by the international community, as it will have implications for the country’s political stability and economic growth.
