The Imo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has denied reports of factional divisions, reaffirming its unity under Professor James Okoroma’s leadership. In a statement issued by ADC National Vice Chairman for the South‑East, Sir Bon Unachukwu, the party was described as a single, cohesive entity with Professor Okoroma duly recognized as State Chairman.

The ADC’s national leadership emphasized that no factions exist within the Imo State chapter and instructed that all party activities, communications, and official engagements be conducted solely under the supervision of Professor Okoroma’s State Working Committee. This clarification aims to dispel confusion and reassure the public, party members, and the media of the party’s commitment to unity and democratic principles.

In the Monday release, Unachukwu urged the public to disregard any unauthorized statements or actions from individuals or groups not recognized by the national leadership. He reiterated the ADC’s dedication to transparency, unity, and democratic advancement in Imo State and across Nigeria.

By reaffirming its leadership structure and dismissing claims of factionalism, the ADC seeks to assure its supporters and the wider public of its stability and adherence to core values. This stance underscores the party’s effort to maintain cohesion amid potential divisions, a crucial factor for a major political force in Nigeria’s political landscape. The leadership’s clear position will shape the ADC’s future activities and engagements in Imo State and beyond.
