Anambra Governor Soludo Praised For Development Efforts Ahead Election

As the Anambra governorship election approaches, stakeholders in Idemili North have commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s efforts to bring development to the grassroots level. They are urging the people of Anambra to ensure continuity in governance to sustain the current development momentum.

According to Hon. Paul Chidubem Okoye, Secretary to the Idemili North Local Government Council and President General of Ideani Development Union Federated, Governor Soludo’s achievements are evident and require consolidation. Okoye described the governor as a visionary leader who has transformed key sectors, including education, infrastructure, healthcare, and security, in line with the Anambra Vision 2070 development blueprint.

In the education sector, Okoye noted that the governor has revitalized public confidence through massive teacher recruitment, school renovations, and the introduction of digital learning. This has bridged rural-urban gaps, giving every child a fair chance to learn and excel. On security, the Soludo administration has restored peace in communities once plagued by insecurity, achieving a sharp drop in crime rates through intelligence-led policing and collaboration with federal agencies and local vigilantes.

The governor’s focus on primary healthcare, maternal and child welfare, and rural health infrastructure has expanded access to quality care, Okoye said. The administration’s free medical outreach programs and welfare incentives for health workers have further strengthened the sector. In terms of infrastructure, hundreds of kilometers of roads are being built and rehabilitated across all senatorial zones, opening up communities, boosting trade, and connecting farmers to new markets.

Okoye also praised the governor’s “One Youth, Two Skills” initiative, which trains and equips young people with dual technical and vocational skills, transforming them into job creators rather than job seekers. At the grassroots level, the governor’s “Solution” agenda has deepened inclusion by giving communities direct access to development funds, with rural electrification, road rehabilitation, and social projects rekindling hope and participation in governance.

The stakeholders’ endorsement of Governor Soludo’s second term ambition is seen as a call for continuity and consolidation, with his achievements in less than four years laying a solid foundation for a modern, industrial, and knowledge-based Anambra. The governor’s progress, legacy, and collective dream of a prosperous Anambra that works for all are at stake, making the upcoming election crucial for the state’s future development.
