Anambra Dismisses Claims Governor Soludo Plans to Arrest Religious Leaders

The Anambra State Government has dismissed reports alleging that Governor Chukwuma Soludo plans to arrest religious leaders in the state, describing the claims as false and mischievous.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Press Secretary to the Governor, Christian Aburime, said the rumors circulating on social media were the handiwork of political detractors seeking to create tension and discredit the Soludo administration.

Aburime clarified that Governor Soludo remains committed to religious freedom, peace, and unity among all faiths in the state, adding that the government has no intention of targeting or intimidating any religious leader.

“Governor Soludo holds all religious leaders in high esteem and continues to collaborate with them to promote peace, security, and development in Anambra,”
the statement read in part.

The government urged residents to disregard false reports and verify information from official channels before spreading it online.
