NNPP Open to Alliance with Other Parties for Nigeria’s Prosperity

The New Nigeria Peoples Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Rabi’u Kwankwaso, has expressed willingness to form an alliance with any political party or individual that shares the party’s vision for a prosperous Nigeria. In an interview with BBC Hausa, Kwankwaso emphasized that any potential merger or alliance must be based on mutual respect, clear benefits, and shared ideals, particularly the upliftment of the common man.

Kwankwaso stated that the party is open to collaborating with any entity, including the All Progressives Congress, Peoples Democratic Party, African Democratic Congress, or individuals like Jonathan or Peter Obi, provided they demonstrate competence and integrity. However, he stressed that the party’s primary concern is the improvement of Nigerians’ lives, and any alliance must prioritize this goal.

The NNPP, which fielded candidates in all states during the 2023 elections, has emerged as a national force capable of influencing the country’s political direction. Kwankwaso noted that he had previously hinted at the possibility of working with the ruling All Progressives Congress, but emphasized that such a move must yield tangible benefits for the NNPP’s structures and candidates.

Kwankwaso also criticized Nigeria’s political elite, accusing them of neglecting the struggles of ordinary citizens while enjoying lavish lifestyles in Abuja. The former lawmaker’s comments come amid growing concerns about the country’s economic and social challenges.

The potential alliance between the NNPP and other political entities is likely to have significant implications for Nigeria’s political landscape. As the country continues to navigate its complex political terrain, the NNPP’s willingness to collaborate with like-minded parties and individuals may pave the way for increased cooperation and a stronger focus on addressing the needs of the Nigerian people. With its national presence and commitment to the welfare of the masses, the NNPP is poised to play a key role in shaping the country’s future.
