Katsina State Governor Approves Cabinet Reshuffle

Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda has announced a cabinet reshuffle, which includes the creation of a new Ministry of Livestock Development. The move, aimed at enhancing service delivery and performance, was disclosed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed, on Saturday.

As part of the reshuffle, Prof. Ahmad Muhammad-Bakori has been appointed to head the newly created Ministry of Livestock Development, having previously served in the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development. Adnan Nahabu has been transferred from the Ministry for Special Duties to the Ministry for Higher, Vocational and Technical Education, where he will serve as Commissioner.

Other changes include the redeployment of Alhaji Aliyu Lawal-Zakari from the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to the Ministry of Agriculture, and Hajiya Zainab Musa-Musawa’s move from the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education to the Ministry of Special Duties. New appointments have also been made, with Alhaji Yusuf Suleiman-Jibia taking over as Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, and Alhaji Surajo Yazid-Abukur appointed as Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development.

Aisha Aminu, formerly the Director-General of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency, has been appointed to head the Ministry of Women Affairs. Additionally, Hajiya Hadiza Abubakar-Yar’adua has been redeployed from the Ministry of Women Affairs to serve as Special Adviser on Nutrition and Welfare Services, while Isa Muhammad-Musa has been moved from the Ministry for Higher, Technical and Vocational Education to serve as Special Adviser on Cultural Orientation.

Governor Radda has charged the new appointees to remain committed to his administration’s ‘Building Your Future Agenda’ and prioritize service to the people of Katsina State. The reshuffle, which took immediate effect, is expected to improve coordination, deepen sectoral expertise, and accelerate the delivery of critical programs across key sectors, including education, health, agriculture, youth development, women empowerment, and social welfare. With this move, the governor aims to reposition his administration for optimal performance and enhanced service delivery to the people of Katsina State.
