APC Launches Niger State Local Council Election Campaign

November 1 LG elections: Niger Gov Bago flags off APC campaign

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger State has officially launched its campaign for the upcoming local government council elections, scheduled to take place on November 1, 2025. The campaign kickoff event was held in Minna, where state governor Mohammed Umaru Bago reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to enhancing the lives of citizens at both state and local levels.

Governor Bago urged the people of Niger State to vote overwhelmingly for APC candidates in all 25 chairmanship and 274 councillorship positions. He also prayed for peaceful and successful elections, while charging APC stakeholders and supporters to work diligently towards securing a resounding victory for the party.

According to Abdulmalik Sarkindaji, Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly and Director-General of the APC State Campaign Council, the forthcoming elections will serve as a test of the party’s integrity, capacity, and popularity. Sarkindaji expressed confidence that all APC candidates would emerge victorious.

The APC National Vice Chairman (North Central), Mu’azu Bawa Rijau, represented the National Chairman at the event. Rijau highlighted the party’s numerous achievements nationwide, which reflect its change mantra, and urged the electorate to vote for APC candidates in the council elections.

Alhaji Aminu Musa Bobi, Niger State APC Chairman, assured that the party would adhere to all electoral guidelines and accept the outcome of the elections. He encouraged party faithful and the general public to come out en masse to vote for APC candidates.

Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, also spoke at the event, urging residents to reciprocate the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Bago by voting for APC candidates. This, he said, would help sustain the delivery of democratic dividends.

The local government council elections are significant, as they will determine the leadership of the 25 local governments in Niger State. With the APC campaigning actively, the party is poised to make a strong showing in the elections. The outcome of the polls will likely have implications for the state’s governance and development. As the election date approaches, the people of Niger State will be watching closely to see how the parties perform.
