Nigerian Actor Ibrahim Chatta Earns N5 Million Per Movie

Nigerian Actor Ibrahim Chatta’s Earnings Revealed

A recent interview with veteran actor Mustapha Bakare Oloto has shed light on the earnings of Nigerian actor Ibrahim Chatta. According to Oloto, Chatta currently charges N5 million to appear in a movie, making him the highest paid actor in the industry.

Oloto made the disclosure while discussing the challenges faced by veteran actors in producing cinema movies. He explained that many veteran actors, including himself, earn between N250,000 to N300,000 per movie appearance, which is significantly lower than Chatta’s fee. This disparity in earnings makes it difficult for veteran actors to produce their own movies, as they cannot afford to pay the high fees demanded by top actors like Chatta.

Oloto cited his own experience working with Chatta on the set of his movie “Jigi” in Ogbomoso, where Chatta was paid N5 million for his appearance. He noted that Chatta’s high earnings allow him to take on multiple projects per month, whereas veteran actors like himself can only appear in one or two films per month due to their lower fees.

The revelation of Chatta’s earnings highlights the significant gap in pay between top actors and veteran actors in the Nigerian film industry. This disparity can have implications for the production of cinema movies, as veteran actors may struggle to secure funding or attract top talent due to their limited budgets.

The Nigerian film industry, also known as Nollywood, is one of the largest film industries in the world, with a significant following in Africa and beyond. The industry has produced many talented actors, including Chatta, who has built a reputation as a versatile and sought-after performer. As the industry continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how the pay gap between top actors and veteran actors affects the production of cinema movies and the careers of actors like Chatta.
