Rohit Sharma becomes No1 ODI batter

Rohit Sharma Achieves Number One Ranking in ODI Batting

Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma has reached the top of the International Cricket Council (ICC) One-Day International (ODI) batting rankings. The 38-year-old opener’s impressive performance in the recent three-match ODI series against Australia, where he scored 202 runs at an average of 101.00, contributed to his rise to the number one spot.

Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif praised Rohit’s selfless approach to the game, stating that his primary focus has always been on the team’s success rather than personal achievements. Kaif noted that Rohit’s statements have consistently emphasized the importance of the team winning and India finishing on top.

Rohit’s impressive career statistics include 276 ODIs, with 11,370 runs at an average of 49.22 and a strike rate of 92.66. He has also scored 59 half-centuries and 33 centuries. Kaif highlighted Rohit’s leadership skills, citing his tenure as India’s ODI captain, during which the team rose from fourth to first in the world rankings.

Kaif also mentioned Rohit’s role in India’s 2024 T20 World Cup victory, where he played a crucial part in the team’s success. The former cricketer emphasized that Rohit’s only goal as captain was to make India the number one team, and he achieved this through his dedication and leadership.

Rohit is expected to return to action later this month when India hosts South Africa for a three-match ODI series, starting on November 30. His number one ranking in ODI batting is a testament to his hard work and commitment to the sport. As Kaif noted, Rohit’s primary mission has always been to take India to the top, and he has succeeded in doing so.
