Tinubu Tackles Insecurity Amid Obi’s Criticism

No one else in ADC coalition apart from Peter Obi' - Mark replies Abdullahi

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded to criticisms regarding Nigeria’s insecurity, stating that President Bola Tinubu is actively working to address the issue. According to Seye Oladejo, the party’s spokesman, Tinubu has been confronting the security challenges with courage and strategy since assuming office.

Oladejo noted that the security problems in Nigeria are not recent developments, but rather inherited issues that the current administration is working to resolve. He highlighted some of the measures being taken, including strengthening military command and intelligence structures, deploying modern technology and platforms, re-energizing regional and global security collaboration, and tackling the economic roots of insecurity through bold reforms.

The APC spokesman accused Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, and his allies of using propaganda to exploit the security situation for political gain. Oladejo stated that while serious leaders are focused on finding solutions, Obi and his supporters are rehearsing past grievances and relying on foreign commentary to further their political interests.

Oladejo criticized Obi’s approach, suggesting that he appears to be content when Nigeria is under pressure, as he sees every challenge as an opportunity to revive his political career. He emphasized that real leaders defend their country in difficult moments and balance criticism with dignity and national pride.

The APC’s response comes as Nigeria continues to grapple with security challenges, including terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping. The country’s security situation has been a major concern for citizens and the international community, with many calling for urgent action to address the issues. As the Tinubu administration works to implement its security strategies, it remains to be seen how effective these measures will be in addressing the country’s security challenges.
