Bobi Wine Gets Security Assurance For Kigezi Campaign Tour

The Kabale office of the Resident District Commissioner has assured the National Unity Platform’s presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine, of full security and cooperation during his upcoming campaign tour in the Kigezi sub-region. According to Kabale Deputy RDC Micheal Kyakashari, all necessary security arrangements have been made to ensure peaceful and orderly campaign activities in the area.

Kyagulanyi is set to begin his campaign trail in the Kigezi sub-region on November 10, starting with Rukiga and Kabale districts, as per the Electoral Commission’s roadmap. The RDC’s assurance comes amidst calls from various political parties for fairness, transparency, and respect for all candidates during the campaign period. Kyagulanyi, who is seeking the presidency for the first time, will address supporters across the region’s six districts, promoting the NUP’s vision for a “New Uganda.”

The Electoral Commission has outlined a comprehensive roadmap for the presidential campaigns, which includes guidelines for candidate safety and security. The commission has urged all stakeholders to adhere to these guidelines to ensure a smooth and peaceful electoral process. As the campaign season heats up, the RDC’s assurance of security and cooperation is seen as a positive step towards promoting a conducive environment for all candidates to campaign freely.

The Kigezi sub-region is a key battleground in the upcoming elections, with a significant number of voters and a diverse range of political affiliations. Kyagulanyi’s campaign tour is expected to draw large crowds, and the RDC’s commitment to providing maximum security will be crucial in ensuring the safety of both the candidate and his supporters. As the campaign trail unfolds, the international community will be watching closely to see how the electoral process unfolds in Uganda.

With the elections scheduled to take place in the coming months, the RDC’s assurance of security and cooperation is a welcome development. The Electoral Commission’s guidelines and the RDC’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful and orderly campaign process will be crucial in promoting a free and fair electoral process. As the campaign season gains momentum, all eyes will be on Uganda to see how the country navigates this critical period in its democratic journey.
