Anambra State Governorship Election Results Begin to Emerge

Results from the Anambra State governorship election have started to trickle in, with voting concluding at 2 pm in various polling units across the state. Although the election was scheduled to end at 2 pm, the law allows voters already in line to cast their ballots. In polling units where voting has ended and ballots have been counted, preliminary results are being reported.

In Nnokwa, Idemili South Local Government Area, at Polling Unit 015, Ward 09, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) leads with 60 votes, followed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) with 15 votes, and the Labour Party (LP) and Young Progressives Party (YPP) each with 2 votes. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured 1 vote.

In Uruagu Ward 1, Nnewi North Local Government Area, at Polling Unit 018, APGA has 69 votes, LP has 21 votes, APC has 14 votes, and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has 1 vote. Two votes were declared invalid. Out of 563 registered voters, 107 were accredited to vote.

At Polling Unit 003, Ward 09, Nnokwa, Idemili South Local Government Area, APGA leads with 108 votes, followed by APC with 30 votes, YPP with 6 votes, ADC with 3 votes, LP with 2 votes, PDP with 2 votes, and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) with 1 vote.

In Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area, at Polling Unit 10, Ward 2, APGA has 132 votes, APC has 39 votes, YPP has 13 votes, ADC has 5 votes, and LP has no votes. At Polling Unit 009, Ward 1, Igbo-Ukwu, Aguata Local Government Area, APGA leads with 134 votes, followed by YPP with 19 votes, APC with 5 votes, PDP with 3 votes, and LP with 1 vote.

As more results emerge from across Anambra State, the outcome of the governorship election is becoming clearer. The election is significant, as it will determine the next leader of the state. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is expected to announce the official results once all votes have been counted and verified. The people of Anambra State await the final outcome, which will shape the state’s future.
