Hajj Fares Reduced For 2026 Pilgrimage

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has reduced the 2026 Hajj fares for intending pilgrims across the country. This move follows a directive from President Bola Tinubu in October, through his Deputy Chief of Staff, Sen. Ibrahim Hadeija, to lower the costs that NAHCON had announced earlier.

In September, NAHCON had announced its approved fares for the 2026 Hajj. However, after the presidential directive, the commission reevaluated the costs. Pilgrims from the Borno and Adamawa zones will now pay ₦7,579,020.96, a reduction of ₦748,104.63 from the 2025 fare of ₦8,327,125.59. Intending pilgrims from the Northern Zone will pay ₦7,696,769.76, representing a decrease of ₦760,915.83 from the previous year’s ₦8,457,685.59. For the Southern Zone, the revised fare for 2026 is ₦7,991,141.76, down by ₦792,943.83 from the 2025 fare of ₦8,784,085.59.

The adjustments aim to make the pilgrimage more affordable for Nigerian Muslims ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise. NAHCON also announced a new payment deadline of December 5, 2025, for all intending pilgrims. To ensure smooth processing and participation in the 2026 Hajj, pilgrims are advised to complete their payments on or before the stated deadline.

For more information, NAHCON urges the public to visit its official website at www.nahcon.gov.ng. The reduction in Hajj fares and the new payment deadline are significant developments for Nigerian Muslims planning to participate in the 2026 Hajj. With the new fares and deadline in place, NAHCON is working to facilitate a successful and affordable pilgrimage experience for intending pilgrims. The commission’s efforts to make the pilgrimage more accessible reflect the importance of the Hajj for Nigerian Muslims and the government’s commitment to supporting their religious practices.
