Hajj Fare Reduced to N7667769 for Jigawa Pilgrims

Jigawa slashes 2026 Hajj Fare to N7.67m

The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced a significant reduction in the 2026 Hajj fare, with intending pilgrims now required to pay N7,669,769, down from the initial N8,457,685. This decrease of N787,916 was made possible through the intervention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, according to the Director General of the Commission, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo.

The reduced fare was disclosed after the signing of the 2026 Hajj Agreement between the Federal Government and the Holy Land Authority. Alhaji Labbo, who is currently in the Holy Land to secure accommodations for Jigawa pilgrims in Mecca, stated that the commission has finalized all arrangements for the upcoming Hajj exercise.

The collection of Hajj fares for the 2026 exercise is set to close next month, and the commission is urging those who have not yet made deposits to do so promptly in order to obtain their visas on time. Alhaji Labbo expressed appreciation for the cooperation and support provided by Governor Umar Namadi to the Commission.

The reduction in Hajj fare is expected to benefit numerous pilgrims from Jigawa State, who will now have to pay less for the religious journey. The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board’s announcement comes as a relief to many, who were initially faced with the higher cost. With the new fare in place, pilgrims can now make necessary arrangements for the 2026 Hajj exercise with more ease.

The Hajj, a sacred pilgrimage in Islam, attracts millions of Muslims from around the world to the Holy City of Mecca each year. The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board’s efforts to reduce costs and facilitate the pilgrimage process for its citizens reflect the government’s commitment to supporting the religious practices of its people. As the 2026 Hajj exercise approaches, the board’s announcement is likely to bring relief and excitement to intending pilgrims from Jigawa State.
