The Nigerian Air Force has successfully destroyed a major terrorist stronghold in the Sauri camp area of Tsafe Local Government, Zamfara State, following precision airstrikes carried out on November 14, 2025. The operation, executed by the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, was announced in a statement by the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.

According to the statement, the air interdiction mission was based on “comprehensive intelligence and surveillance operations” that confirmed heavy terrorist activity and the presence of rustled livestock hidden on elevated terrain. This hideout, used as both a defensive shield and a logistics base, hosted several armed elements linked to recent attacks in the region.

The Air Force launched “multiple coordinated strike passes,” achieving direct hits on key targets. Surviving terrorists attempting to escape into the surrounding vegetation were tracked and engaged, resulting in the neutralisation of numerous fighters and the destruction of essential structures and supply hubs.

Air Commodore Ejodame noted that the operation significantly weakened the terrorists’ operational capability. He also quoted the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, who reaffirmed the Force’s unwavering resolve to “find them, hunt them down, and protect our people.”

The success in Zamfara aligns with broader nationwide operations under FANSAN YAMMA, which also targeted ISWAP positions in Mallam Fatori and Shuwaram in Borno State, as well as bandit camps in Garin Dandi and Chigogo, Kwara State, and Zango Hill in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.

NAF said the sustained pressure is part of ongoing efforts to deny terrorists safe havens and restore lasting peace across the North West and other affected regions.
