Oyo State APC Youth Leaders Call for New Leadership Ahead of 2027 Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) youth leaders in Oyo State have urged Governor Seyi Makinde to prepare for a transition of power, citing residents’ desire for a new direction in leadership. This call was made during a press briefing at the APC Secretariat in Ibadan, where State APC Youth Leader Comrade John Aremu emphasized the party’s commitment to reclaiming the state from the current Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration.

Aremu criticized the present government, accusing it of holding the state in a state of stagnation. He expressed the determination of APC youths to bring about the necessary political change that the state requires, stressing that they are ready to assume responsibility and provide progressive leadership.

The recent reconciliation between Senator Teslim Folarin and Minister of Power Chief Adebayo Adelabu was highlighted as a positive development, signaling renewed unity within the APC. This unity is expected to strengthen the party’s prospects in the 2027 governorship election.

The upcoming APC Youth Summit is slated to focus on restructuring party units, mobilizing grassroots support, and fostering alignment among young members behind a shared progressive vision. The summit will also unveil a strategic roadmap driven by young people, encompassing digital advocacy, political mobilization, community engagement projects, and issue-based campaigns aimed at reclaiming the state.

Comrade Aremu underlined the importance of planning for the future, stating that the youth wing is fully prepared to lead the transformation needed to advance the state’s development agenda. With the 2027 election on the horizon, the APC youth leaders’ call for new leadership reflects a desire for change among residents and a determination to provide an alternative direction for the state. The outcome of this development will be significant, as it may influence the political landscape of Oyo State in the years to come.
