Rodney Harrison, a former NFL safety and current NBC analyst, experienced a concerning moment during a pregame talk on Sunday night. Harrison was discussing the upcoming game between the Denver Broncos and the Washington Commanders at FedExField when he appeared to freeze mid-sentence.

When asked by analyst Jac Collinsworth about the best way to attack the Commanders, Harrison began to respond but suddenly stopped and requested the question be repeated. He then stated, “The best way to attack them… There’s a lot of stuff going on, I’m sorry. They don’t have a lot of discipline on the defensive side of the ball. That’s it. I’m sorry guys.”

The incident sparked a reaction on social media, with some viewers speculating about the cause of Harrison’s sudden pause. While some attributed it to a logistical error, such as multiple people speaking into his microphone, others expressed concern about a potential health issue.

Dr. Jesse Morse, an NFL injury expert and sports physician, shared his opinion on the incident, suggesting that Harrison may have experienced possible TIA or stroke-like symptoms. However, Harrison later clarified that he was suffering from exhaustion due to lack of sleep, having worked on only a few hours of rest after watching his son play on Saturday night.

Harrison, who played in the NFL for 15 years and won two Super Bowls, has been a part of NBC’s Football Night in America as a commentator and analyst since his retirement in 2009. He has four children, including two sons who play football at the university level, and has been traveling to watch their games, which may have contributed to his exhaustion.

The Denver Broncos ultimately won the game against the Commanders 27-26. Harrison’s health and well-being are of primary concern, and it is reassuring that he has addressed the incident and attributed it to exhaustion rather than a more serious health issue.
