Fish Magnet's murder: VeryDarkMan in Anambra, stages walk over insecurity

Social media critic VeryDarkman has confirmed that he initiated the call that led to the arrest of activist Harrison Gwamnishu, who is currently in police custody in Benin, Edo State. In a Facebook video, VeryDarkman said Gwamnishu was taken into custody on Thursday night after he contacted the police following reports of an incident involving the activist in Auchi. He expressed disappointment with the details of the incident and had advised against publicizing the matter online.

A video later surfaced on social media, prompting VeryDarkman to challenge those involved. He criticized Gwamnishu’s response video, describing it as an attempt to manipulate public sentiment. VeryDarkman also noted that one of the individuals who posted the video claimed to have done so to clear his name after being accused of having ties to the case. According to VeryDarkman, the police instructed those present not to record the incident, yet a clip showing Gwamnishu returning money connected to the case was still captured.

Gwamnishu’s truck is currently at the police station in Edo State. VeryDarkman denied acting out of jealousy, stating that he intervened because he believed the truth needed to be upheld. He hopes that, upon Gwamnishu’s release, the activist will publicly disclose the truth about the incident. VeryDarkman warned that he may be forced to reveal more details if Gwamnishu fails to do so.

The incident has sparked a heated debate online, with many calling for transparency and accountability. The arrest highlights the importance of social‑media responsibility and the need for fact‑based reporting. As the investigation unfolds, the police are expected to provide further updates, and Gwamnishu’s release is anticipated to shed more light on what transpired in Auchi. For now, the public awaits the truth and the role of social media in shaping the narrative.
